Thank you for asking.

Importing the new upstream release should be trivial in itself.

What has prevented me from doing it is the need to take care of the
conffile incompatibility between 1.x and 2.x, somehow. I've never
handled such a situation, so I'm not sure if the right thing to do
would be to move the old conffile out of the way, or what. No idea if
it's feasible to migrate the most important settings to the new
configuration file format.

I'm also attaching a NEWS.Debian file that David Goulet was kind
enough to draft.

To end with, it might be that parcimonie is not compatible with
torsocks 2.x:

  https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/ticket/11090

I did not try to reproduce it yet, since my GnuPG being torified
anyway, I'm using parcimonie's --gnupg-already-torified option, that
makes it bypass the wrapper around gpg that uses torsocks. This is
probably a problem in parcimonie itself. I want to address that for
Jessie, but it may not be a blocker for uploading torsocks 2.x to sid
ASAP -- although caring about reverse dependencies is generally
nice :)

Anyone using parcimonie without --gnupg-already-torified, and willing
to give it a try with torsocks 2.x (currently in experimental)?

Cheers,
