I could successfully use this feature with this output directory:
~/.local/share/torbrowser/tbb/x86_64/tor-browser_en-US/Browser/Desktop/
What directory are you trying to save the file to? Note that only very
few directories are writable by Tor Browser with AppArmor enabled,
which is on purpose.
May you please attach the corresponding AppArmor denial logs?
