[Pkg-audacious-maintainers] Bug#584794: audacious: [regression] context menu is unusable with rolled up player near bottom of screen

Package: audacious
Version: 2.3-2
Severity: normal

Hi!

The new audacious version that has recently migrated into testing (2.3-2)
fixed several bugs, but also introduced some little regressions.

I have already filed a bug report for the first regression I noticed
(bug #584249).
Here's a report for the second regression.

When I right-click on the player window, a context menu appears
(the one with "About Audacious" and so forth).
This is true, even when the player window is rolled up.
Good.

The context menu usually appears with its top-left corner located
where the mouse-pointer was, when the right button was clicked.

This is true, as long as there's enough room on the right and enough
room below in order to accommodate for the menu.
When there's not enough room on the right (because the player window
is too close to the right side of the screen), the menu appears shifted
to the left.

With audacious/2.1-1, the same strategy used to be applied, when the
player window was too close to the bottom side of the screen (the menu
used to appear shifted up).
With audacious/2.3-2, the strategy changed: when the player window is
too close to the bottom side of the screen, the menu is shortened in
height and two arrows are included to scroll its content up and down.

This is a regression, since, when the player window is rolled up and very
close to the bottom of the screen, the context menu becomes unusable:
it is so short that it is *entirely* covered by one of the arrows and
no menu entries are reachable!

Please revert this change and re-enable the previous strategy, which
used to work well in all reasonable use cases, as far as I know.
