Layered configuration works fine in Debian package, even the warning
produced by upstream says "Perl versions before 5.6 cannot handle nested
includes". Debian currently ships 5.8 so it should be safe (and I did
not notice any problems in last years when I use this).

The patch is easy one liner quite easy to review...

The bug with patch is reported there for about two years:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1145729&group_id=13764&atid=113764

My experience is that awstats upstream does not much look at bug
tracker (if at all). I think I still have there open several patches.

I'm currently quite busy with other things I'm involved and my knowledge
of Perl is very limited, but I can try it if it is only way to push
awstats package to better shape.

What is not documented use? Include directive is properly documented
[1] and the problem with nested includes comes from Debian packaging
which introduces awstats.conf.local which is the additional layer which
causes problems.

Anyway if you thing this is a wishlist+wontfix bug, you can mark same
way also #432096 as it is caused by same problem.
