Log Message:
Hello,

against my plans I found some typos. In the text you find many

%SM:

lines that explain why I think things should be changed. Sometimes
I have done the change, sometimes not. At a _few_ places I was mourning
a bit for some previously submitted changes that did not make it
to the current version. What made it a bit difficult for me was
that I could not distinguish between

* Dirk did not like it and
* Dirk made an error in reverting

and thus I made about 100 times longer comments about a change than the
change is itself.

The figure that is in represents one half of the paper, the symbiosis
of the communities. The other half, the build process, could well make
use a figure, too. However, we do not have space for that, I am afraid.
I would be prepared to invest the hours tomorrow, if you could send me a
fax with a hand-drawn figure to +49 451 500 5502 with your vision on that
to make sure we have a consensus on that front.

Should we go for multicols? This should resolve our constraints for space
immediately. For the references at least this is very common to have. And
I think we would even be allowed to have these in a slightly smaller font.

Concerning the length of the paper we can shorten on many fronts, not
only on the connecting sentences between and at the beginning of the
sections, where my taste seems to be very different. However, the easiest
may be to shorten the history section, thus leaving only the
acknowledgements which should then also leave the appendix to become a
regular \section*{Acknowledgements}.

Many greetings

Steffen
