Since the Rnews is multicol, I have just prepared a multicol of this arcticle, too and ... taddaaaa ... we are down to 8 pages.

Yipee ... at least if you happen to find that acceptable. I read through http://user2007.org/paper-submission.html which does not say anything against it nor does it supply a style file.
