thank you for the update, Dirk. It is great to hear that a repository was found.
I basically agree to all that was said in this thread and while I personally think that
cran2deb was rather nice, it is fantastic to hear that you managed to come up with
something even better.

Concerning the nettab paper - it is hidden in this conference proceedings which does not
really count as a publication.

As much as I would like to see BioConductor packages becoming available, your primary
focus on just anything seems just right.

Concerning specialised Debian repositories, I seem them more and more. There is one for
the OpenMoko w/ Debian, for instance, which you cannot get around. Once Dirk announces the
R one, this will become some standard thingy, too. Mentors we have. Possibly others that I
am not aware of. Ubuntu has many smaller ones via their launchpad. In the longer run,
Debian should come up with some way to support them officially.
