I am not aware of any better documentation than the blog post you saw.
Perhaps you can write some?

What kind of error message did you get?  Perhaps you are missing the
build dependencies?  The build worked for me, so I am unsure what to
recommend.

Cc to the bitcoin team list, in case someone there might be able to
