[Pkg-bluetooth-discuss] Bluez vs. CB2460 Creative Headset

Good morning!

I am running Squeeze and I understand from
http://wiki.bluez.org/wiki/HOWTO/AudioDevices that it is possible to pair with
a Bluetooth headset, such as Creative's CB2460 and use it as a microphone and
speaker. I can't and I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong.

# sudo hcitool scan # successfully finds the headset's address and name when I
put the headset into pairing mode. # sudo hcitool info <address> # returns
"Can't create connection: Input/output error" regardless of whether the
headset is in pairing mode. GNOME's Bluetooth wizard (run in KDE) does not
find the device. The headset needs a preset PIN to pair but I never get
prompted for it. I have tried to run # sudo bluetooth-agent <PIN> # before
running the other commands to no success.

http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=16191 indicates that
pairing should work because the headset uses the A2DP service and Bluez
(allegedly) supports that too.

What am I doing wrong?

With thanks,

Borden
