Package: bluez-utils
Severity: wishlist

Hello.

There is a new version of bluez available at the upstream website:
http://www.bluez.org/download/

At the moment of writing this, the newest version is 4.30. This is
significantly newer than 3.36 currently available in debian.

P.S. For some evenings I've been trying to set up a PAN network. I was
astonished at the number of issues present currently in bluez-utils,
from bad documentation to nonfunctional parameters and absent tools
(yes, I need a to work with PIN from command-line only), from race
conditions to plain hangs. The current state of the package (or at
least the PAN user experience) is just awful. However, I will probably
refrain from posting bug reports about any of these issues I had, until
the version bump occurs, since there's a reason to believe that
many/most of them are fixed in the mentioned newer upstream version.
