Package: bluez
Version: 5.21-2
Severity: important
--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Since bluez 5.21.-2 entered testing bluedevil does no longer offer to switch a
bluetooth headset to Headset/Handsfree (HSP/HFP) profiles on my system. Reason
is that Bluez5 dropped support for it:
http://www.bluez.org/release-of-bluez-5-0/
"Remove internal support for telephony (HFP and HSP) profiles. They should be
implemented using the new Profile interface preferably by the telephony
subsystem of choice (e.g. oFono which already supports this)"
Right now oFono seems not to deliver the missing functionalities.
As a result the microphones of bluetooth headsets are no longer working in
debian testing/unstable.
My workaround is to downgrade to bluez 4.101-4.1 and bluedevil 1.3.1-1 using
debian snapshots:
http://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20140713T221757Z/
regards
Jens
