Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
I recently upgraded my system to the lastest debian sid. My bluetooth headset
stopped working. I could connect to the headset using the bluetooth utilities,
but pulseaudio wouldn't recognize it as an audio device.
I found that pulseaudio was throwing this error:
E: [pulseaudio] bluetooth-util.c: org.bluez.HandsfreeGateway.GetProperties()
failed: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "GetProperties" with
signature "" on interface "org.bluez.HandsfreeGateway" doesn't exist
It appears to me that it is making a call and not finding the appropiate bluez
api. I searched on the pulseaudio website and in the changelog of the version
4, which is the one that is currently in sid, it says the following:
"There's already been a large amount of work happening in the 'next' branch
(which will be merged into master shortly). The highlight of these changes is
support for BlueZ 5. "
My guess is that that branch has already been merged to master and the current
pulseaudio version in debian sid expects bluez 5 and not bluez 4.
I am filling this report so that the bluez package will hopefully be updated to
version 5.
