[Pkg-bluetooth-maintainers] Connection issues with gatttool

Dear Maintainers,

I would like to ask for some clarification or hints about the bluetooth
tools/system on debian. The reason for asking it is that I would like to
connect to a BLE device from my machine but I experienced symptoms that
I can not justify. That is:

(1) I can not connect to the device using gatttool on debian jessie
(release: 3.16.0-4-amd64, version: 3.16.43-2+deb8u5), bluez (5.23-2+deb8u1)
(2) Despite of (1) hcitool lescan lists the device
(3) I can connect to the device from a debian 7.5 using gatttool

Can you please give some hints where the difference can/should be
searched, what the root cause(s) can be?
