+ There is nothing to prepare if you do not go for a real project. Just try with the machine at hand. We maintain the boinc-server-maker package in the "experimental" section of Debian. The reason for that is that we do not want our users to use code that is likely to be two years old and invite the public to that server. It would miss any security leak that has since been identified and made public. As for any package distributed in experimental, it only installs to Debian "testing" (Stretch at the time of writing) or Debian "unstable" because of its most modern dependencies.
