[pkg-boost-devel] Bug#410157: libboost-serialization-dev: Shared libraries missing

Package: libboost-serialization-dev
Version: 1.33.1-10
Severity: important

This package is missing the shared libraries, because of which linking
fails. I issue the following command:

            g++ main.cc Someclass.cpp -lboost_serialization

and the linker gives an 'undefined reference' error about methods relating
to std::rb_tree.

The orignal source distribution from boost.org has both static and shared
(libboost_serialization-*-d-*.a) libraries. Upon using the shared libraries
obtained from boost.org, the program compiles, links and works without any
problem!

Why are the shared libraries are not in the package? Is it an oversight or
is itremoved for some reason?
