I would suggest that you at least try to remove 3rd-party/boost and
build using the Debian boost libraries.  This may involve some
patching to the build system, so you may find it easiest to first
resolve your build problems *before* removing 3rd-party/boost.

As far as your other questions go: dunno.  I don't use bjam or
Boost.Build.  My suggestion is to take it up on the Boost.Build
list; see http://www.boost.org/more/mailing_lists.htm.

RPATH problem.
