Hmm, links targetted at multiple tabs work for me.  To make sure I
understand, could you write up a simple step-by-step reproduction
recipe?

More debugging hints:

Could you try installing chromium-browser-dbg and attaching to some of
these processes to get backtraces?  By this I mean

 ; gdb -p $pid
 ; bt

It would be most convenient to send this additional information
directly to

  http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/entry?template=Defect%20on%20Linux

and send a link so continued work can happen through on the upstream
bug tracker.
