[Pkg-chromium-maint] Bug#618977: chromium: selection sometimes strewn with extra spaces

Some text on the web, when selected, exports to the X11 selection
(as shown by xclip -o) with lots of extra space characters in the
middle of words. This happens on the text of perhaps 1 out of every
25 pages. When the text is copied (right-click -> copy) the text
gets to the X11 clipboard correctly, but the X11 selection still
contains the broken text.

How I reproduce:

1) Go to an offending page, such as http://thesprouts.org/who

2) select some text, eg the first paragraph.

3) right-click the selection and select copy

4) xclip -o

5) xclip -o -selection clipboard

didn't think education was in such vital need of renewal, he would
probably be a hardcore mathematician and a softcore DJ.


Steps 3 and 4 can be swapped yielding the same results.


This happens every time for me with certain pages. If you cannot
reproduce this, please let me know and I will spend more time
trying to figure out what it is about these pages that trigger the
bug, and make a simpler test page which exhibits it.
