Package: chromium
Version: 26.0.1410.43-1
Followup-For: Bug #603191
Dear Maintainer,
I have the same issue. In gnome settings I have localhost:8118 set as my HTTP proxy.
The same gnome setting dialog is shown when I go to chromium, Settings, Show advanced setting..., Network / Change proxy server...
privoxy is listening on [::1]:8118 (good), and other browsers works fine trying first [::1] instead of 127.0.0.1 for localhost,
or failing back if first doesn't work.
Chromium doesn't do that.
It shows (for HTTP pages):
Unable to connect to the proxy server
A proxy server is a server that acts as an intermediary between your computer and other servers. Right now, your system is configured to use a proxy, but Chromium can't connect to it.
Here are some suggestions:
If you use a proxy server, check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server, adjust your proxy settings: Go to the Chromium menu > Settings > Show advanced settings... > Change proxy settings... and make sure your configuration is set to "no proxy" or "direct."
Error 130 (net::ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED): Proxy server connection failed.
HTTPS works (bypassing proxy).
Changing proxy to [::1]:8118 or ip6-localhost:8118 in Gnome setting makes HTTP proxing work.
This bug still exists in version 26.0
