So, email is a lossy mode of communication, and it looks like there
was way more loss here than I was expecting, so I'll try to expand.

The back story is that stable-proposed-updates at point release time
get pushed from stable to testing, which results in these kinds of
problems.  They're not really bugs, but just transient issues that
will be fixed once the held up transition goes through (or the package
gets removed from testing which is coming to chromium soonish anyway
rendering the issue moot).

This rarely happens, which is why it isn't very well known I suppose.

Note that a judicious reading of point 2 of the new code of conduct
would possible have reduced some of the loss here.
