The 2nd annual Student Housing Forum on the 25th & 26th September 2014 will
be held at The FNB Conference & Learning Centre in Sandton Johannesburg.

The event reconvenes senior university leaders and managers for student
accommodation support with experts of student housing design to continue the
discussion on the elements that define best practice and good design and how
these elements integrate student experience with campus and city life.

The forum looks at the factors currently impacting supply and demand. It
considers how student housing can provide the best environment in which
students can have thrive in their educational as well as engaging better
with campus life.

Themes over the two days will include:

.  Factors affecting student accommodation supply and demand

.  Building contemporary, complexes to meet the high demand for affordable
on-campus accommodation

.  Areas of focus - pastoral care & welfare; academic mentoring & support;
community & outreach and student leadership

.  Student boarders, tenants and legal rights - responsibilities of
universities in  informing student body

.  Homestay provision - quality and standards, duties of care, security and
governance

.  Integrating students' study with their living arrangements

.  Benchmarking residential operation

.  Planning continuing expansion for quality student accommodation that
encompasses academic and social needs of students

.  External accommodation - Housing quality and density

.  On campus housing security and safety

.  Implications of social media and connectivity on students and management
