Package: chromium
Version: 45.0.2454.85-1~deb8u1
Severity: normal

Most of the graphic features under chrome://gpu show "Software only, hardware
acceleration unavailable",on a Virtualbox guest machine,and chromium
45.0.2454.85 . It seems a problem appeared from last security update, which
passed from 44.0.2403.89 to 45.0.2454.85. Equal and newer chrome versions
suffer the same problem (tested chrome 45.0.2454.85-1 , 46.0.2490.22-1 and
47.0.2503.0-1 from Google repository http://dl.google.com/linux/talkplugin/deb/
stable main
).
However previous version 44.0.2403.89 show all the graphic features as
"Hardware accelerated", with exactly the same config flags.
The problem seems to be related only to virtualbox guest, because the host
machine is exactly the same config (a debian jessie + jessie-backports totally
updated), and shows all these praphics features also "Hardware accelerated" .

Graphics Feature Status output of the 45.0.2454.85:
Canvas: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable
Flash: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable
Flash Stage3D: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable
Flash Stage3D Baseline profile: Software only, hardware acceleration
unavailable
Compositing: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable
Multiple Raster Threads: Enabled
Rasterization: Hardware accelerated
Video Decode: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable
Video Encode: Software only, hardware acceleration unavailable
WebGL: Unavailable
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Virtualbox guest module 4.3.18-dfsg-3+deb8u3 on 3.16.0-4-amd64 kernel.

Host runs virtualbox 4.3.30-dfsg-1 with 4.1.0-0.bpo.1-amd64.

Both the host and guest are pretty the same system: a debian jessie + jessie-
backports totally updated.
The VirtualBox versions are diferent betweeen host and guest because the
Virtualbox 4.3.18-dfsg-3+deb8u3 modules doesn't compile with the
4.1.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 jessie-backports kernel. The problem is not related to this
different versions, because I tried to downgrade the virtualbox host to
4.3.18-dfsg-3+deb8u3 and use the 3.16.0-4-amd64 kernel and the problem remains.
