(abstaining from changing severity, although I have a great urge to do so)

Hi Michael,

I kind of disagree with you ;-)

Every, and literally *every* update of chromium messes up my link
open action.

Not that I see a reason:
$ ls -l /etc/alternatives/www-browser
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Apr  2  2014 /etc/alternatives/www-browser -> /usr/bin/lynx
$ ls -l /etc/alternatives/gnome-www-browser
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 Jul  7 11:05 /etc/alternatives/gnome-www-browser -> /usr/bin/firefox
$ xdg-mime query default text/html
firefox.desktop

and I never did anything willingly with my mime stuff.

So I don't see why this happens.

Running cinnamon (which is treated as Gnome).

Doesn't help any further, though.

I still get chromium when clicking on a link and selecting
	Open URL
in both mate-terminal and sakura. Both use xdg-open, which still opens
chromium.

Digging a bit deeper I see that xdg-open calls gvfs-open, which in turn
selects chromium.

Hope that helps

Norbert
