Dear Maintainer,
I installed a minimal Debian Wheezy system from DVD, switched apt to
Jessie, and installed Cinnamon. I also installed Firefox from Mozilla. I
noticed that the buttons, text fields, drop-down boxes etc. were very
ugly, as if on a Windows Classic-themed system. This is very different
to the normal, modern Cinnamon theme. Even the system print dialog is
ugly when invoked from Firefox, although the exact same dialog looks
correct when invoked from Evince. I can demonstrate the problem in
Mozilla Firefox 37.0.1 (stable version, up to date, and my primary browser)
and Iceweasel 31.6.0esr-1. I tried to update Cinnamon to the Linux
Mint version, but it didn't seem to help. (I didn't manage to install
the newer version properly though.)
The error message
Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "pixmap",
is displayed by the faulty programs. Installing gtk2-engines-pixbuf per
recommendation at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/light-themes/+bug/762167
partially solved it – the buttons now look nice, although they are not
the proper Cinnamon style.
