Here are some reports:
* occassional "fail whale dialog" when playing fullscreen games in steam
  in this case tint2 (although installed) gives some warning:
tint2: no process found

  but soon after it is started:

* many warning of the form
  (cinnamon:9138): St-WARNING **: Did not find color property '-gradient-start'
  (cinnamon:9138): St-WARNING **: Did not find color property '-gradient-end'

* the preview shown from the task bar sometimes does not disappear,
  but hangs around indefinitely

* some warnings about adwaita not available
  Window manager warning: Failed to load theme "Adwaita": Failed to find a valid file for theme Adwaita
  Window manager warning: Could not find theme Adwaita. Falling back to default theme.
  but the adwaita g3 theme is installed


More in case I find more problems.
