Right, gnome-keyring implements it's own ssh-agent. I had completely

You can always override the autostart desktop files adding a desktop file to 
~/.config/autostart/ with the same name and the content:
 [Desktop Entry]
 Hidden=true

I've just tested this with gnome-keyring-ssh and this avoids the 
gnome-keyring taking over the SSH_AUTH_SOCK.

I think cinnamon is at fault here, as it doesn't show the desktop files that 
are in /etc/xdg/autostart in the Startup Applications settings, to allow an 
easy way to disable unwanted components.
