This is indeed the case for the version that is currently shipped in Jessie.

Unfortunately, it's not feasible for us to fix this in Debian Stable.

The bug is not present in the version in backports, nor is it present in the
version in testing (what will be the future Debian Stable).

If possible, I'd recommend using the version from backports.
