I have not been able to reproduce this. I've tried on two different machines 
running stable, one with the version you mentioned and the other running 
the version from backports.

Could it be that this issue is due to some combination of other facts in your installation?

Are you able to reproduce this if you create a new user?
Is there anything special about your setup? (e.g. graphics card, mouse, etc).

If it's possible for you, I'd ask you to also give the version in backports a try, 
it might be that even while I can't reproduce, the issue was fixed there.
