Hi Ben!

I cloned this bug since the Debian changelog mess has nothing to do with
the original bug. Please check the new bug number before replying.

Version 20070905-dfsg-1 clearly enters unstable [1], but it seems that
during the migration of the Debian VCS from darcs to git Peter forgot it
was using darcs and instead imported the old bzr repository [2]. This
led to your problem.

Actually, the Debian changelog for version 20070905-dfsg-1 records to
not-uploaded versions (20070315-dfsg-1 and 20070430-dfsg-1), since
there's no mention of those into the Debain PTS or snapshot.d.n [3] and
being version 20070106-dfsg-1 the previous one (but uploaded to
experimental because of the etch freeze [4]). However, these two
"stealth" versions are clearly present in the old darcs repository [5].

However, the Debian changelog for version 1:0.8.1-dfsg-1 completely
misses the above four records and contains, instead, an unrelated
version 20070504-dfsg-1, never uploaded. I guess this last version is
present in the old bzr repository [6], but since I'm a bzr agnostic...

I'd say that the best thing to do now would be to integrate the darcs
missing versions (20070106-dfsg-1, 20070315-dfsg-1, 20070430-dfsg-1 and
20070905-dfsg-1) into the changelog for version 1:0.8.1-dfsg-1 and to
remove the already present 20070504-dfsg-1. If we really want to be
(quite) perfect, we can remove the unnecessary bits (Vcs-Bzr and
usocket) from the 1:0.8.1-dfsg-1 changelog entry.

Comments?

I'll go with the solution above if no one replies in one week from now.

Yes, this for sure, even two times: 20070905-dfsg-1 and 1:0.8.1-dfsg-1!

Thx, bye,
