If I would be too much conservative, I would say that you are hijacking
StumpWM (yes, it is a bit outdated, but there are not big problems with
that). However, that would not be me, and having attended this year
DebConf10 "Bits from the DPL"
<http://penta.debconf.org/dc10_schedule/events/569.en.html> (and also
being listed as myself and team in
<http://wiki.debian.org/LowThresholdNmu>), you are more than welcome to
get StumpWM (and I was only delaying my orphaning...).

Either it is or not, always try to be as hardest as possible with
lintian ;-)

Given that the team policy is to maintain packages through a VCS (mainly
Git), if you ask for sponsorship on the team list only (as it seems you
did, no [B]cc: to debian-mentors@), I would say that the team sponsor
should be able to simply work with the VCS repository and the
Debian-specific building tool (e.g. git-buildpackage). Given that you
created everything already, this time I simply rebuilt your .dsc.

Some "problems":

1) your OpenPGP key is not available on hkp://subkeys.pgp.net, please
upload it with `gpg --send-key --keyserver subkeys.pgp.net 17C7B4BA`.
Hint: subkeys.pgp.net is a round-robin server
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Round_robin_DNS>.

2) I am not so familiar with source-format-3.0, but AFAIK you must not
depend on quilt anymore, if you do not specifically use quilt in
debian/rules. Which means that every quilt usage except
applying/removing patches in debian/rules is useless, but *again* I am
not familiar with source-format-3.0...

3) `lintian --verbose --info --display-info --display-experimental
--show-overrides --color auto --md5sums $PACKAGE` gives

  W: stumpwm source: newer-standards-version 3.9.1 (current is 3.9.0)

The only change which should interest you is:

  11.4, 11.8.3, 11.8.4
Packages providing alternatives for `editor', `pager',
          `x-terminal-emulator', or `x-window-manager' should also
provide a slave alternative for the corresponding manual page.

I do not remember if this version is the one intended for squeeze or
not: if it is, it would be better to comply to that. However, given
that StumpWM does not provide an x-window-manager alternative (while it
should, it seems I faulty remember I added it), it would be better to
fix both "bugs" with the next upload.

If you do not react in the next 3 days, I will upload the version above.

Finally, I would strongly suggest you to start the process to become (at
least) Debian Maintainer <http://wiki.debian.org/DebianMaintainer>,
which means that once you have obtained this status, you will be able to
upload by yourself the packages you maintain (after previous "approval"
in debian/control). This speeds things a bit ;-)

Thx, bye,
Gismo / Luca
