The way to contact a bug submitter it through the bts, not through
random addresses.

The s390 architecture only supports 64bit kernel, which describes itself
as s390x.

That is most likely the same problem. The architecture is defined by
dpkg-architecture on Debian systems, not uname -m. The kernel
architecture can be way off in any directions. With autoconf you want to
add --build=$(DEB_BUILD_GNU_TYPE) to the call.
