[Pkg-corba-devel] License of CORBA IDL files published by the OMG

Hi CORBA maintainers,

We are currently packaging a CORBA broker for the Ada language: PolyORB [1].

The Debian package is almost ready for upload, however we are not sure
how to handle the license of the IDL files which are distributed with
the upstream sources.

PolyORB contains IDL files which are part of the Common Object Request
Broker Architecture Specification, version 3.1, as published by the
Object Management Group [2].

What exactly is the license of these IDL files? Does the license in the
OMG spec document also apply to these "associated IDL files"?

We asked on debian-legal@ for advice, see this thread [3]. There was no
clear statement about the license status though.

Can anyone give us any advice on how to proceed?

Thanks in advance for your help!
