[Pkg-cups-devel] CUPS packages with bigger buffer for cookies

Hi cups guys,

i have got a question about the stable cups packages. The packages in
stable include a bug that limits the max size of cookies to 1024 byte
(http://www.cups.org/str.php?L1274). In current version 1.2 this bug was
fixed, so that the max cookie size is increased to 32k. We ran into this
problem in our company (setting cookies greater than 1k) where debian is
the main linux distribution. Our clients got the cookie and the print
service stopped working for this clients. To solve this problem we
compiled the 1.1.23 with a bigger buffer.

Can you please tell something about the chances of providing an official
patched version of cups for this bug (maybe debian customized sources or
cups in version 1.2).

I would be very glad about any response (also about rejection ;-)) to
this question.
