Please try:
1. apt-get install strace
2. /etc/init.d/cupsys stop
3. strace -o /tmp/cups.log cupsd -F
4. Do something to cause a crash
5. send me gzipped /tmp/cups.log
And your /etc/cups/ directory archive may help me to investigate.
Could you send me it also?
