The first error looks like it's coming from ccache (null pointer).
The second looks like a gcc issue (what does `gcc -dumpmachine` show?
Note that the error is during preconfiguration: cupsys isn't yet
unpacked or installed, so the installation continues.

This looks like ccache is the root cause of the problem, unless it's a
fault in apt/dpkg.  AFAICT, cupsys is just an innocent bystander here,
though it might possibly be tripping over breakage elsewhere.  Do you
get an error if you install another new package, or reinstall cupsys
(apt-get --reinstall install cupsys)?
