[Pkg-cups-devel] Bug#433471: port information from browsing is silently dropped

Package: cupsys
Version: 1.2.12-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

I have my laptop set up to support printers that are announced over the
network (browsing). It worked last week.

Since this weekend's update, it doesn't work anymore. When I browse to
localhost:631 on my laptop and follow the link to the admin interface of
the printer, it links to server:0 instead of server:631, as it should.

Capturing packets on the network while a printjob is queued on my laptop
also shows that something on my laptop is trying to connect to port 0 on
the server.

This leads me to conclude that the port information that is received
through browsing is lost somehow.
