so, the problem might be limited to i386 (or, more specifically, the
uploader's build environment) as it appears to have been built correctly on
the amd64 buildd.
i gave this a severity of "minor" because it doesn't man (the presumed
primary use of the manpages), but it causes man2html (and probably other
applications, but i only noticed the problem reviewing the output of
man2html's weekly cron job) problems.
