OK. It doesn't look like it's a USB connection/device registration
problem.

I have no idea what hal_lpadmin is, or what it's purpose is, but it looks
like it is the thing disabling the printer. It's not clear why it's
doing the disabling, though.

This is likely not an issue, depending on how you configured CUPS to
authorise jobs.

You haven't set a default destination with "lpadmin -d" or via the web

It looks like the actual print jobs was started and completed without
error.

This block is the queue being stopped by user root. I suspect this is the
hal_lpadmin thing above.

So I suggest trying to remove hals-cups-utils (if installed), which looks
like is the cause of these problems.
