This package conflict makes sense, because both packages provide
similarly-named command line tools to manipulate /etc/printcaps and
similar global printing configuration files.

Actually, the dependency is needed to implement automatic addition of
the PDF queue via maintainer scripts. This was already done in the
Ubuntu package and is work in progress in the Debian package also.
Anyhow, as a situation where several printing daemons are installed on
the same host is extremely rare, whereas a situation where someone
needs to manipulate the CUPS queue is more common, I'm gonna downgrade
this to a wishlist severity and revisit it once Lenny is released.
