Package: cups
Version: 1.3.8-1lenny4.1
Severity: normal
Hi,
i am cupsys and cofigures a ServerName which is not the same as the
hostname. The hostname is basically not in the DNS and not reachable.
Browsing the admin web interface works as expected (via the ServerName
which is DNS resolvable).
Printing does not work - This is caused by cups returning the hostname
instead of the ServerName in this request:
195.71.101.6 - - [26/Mar/2009:16:51:43 +0100] "POST / HTTP/1.1" 200 415 CUPS-Get-Classes successful-ok
This causes all gnome requesters to actually show the printer
but you'll not be able to print one because the "Print" button
will be greyed out as the hostname is not resolvable.
The returning of the wrong hostname in the printer list has
been confirmed with tcpdump/wireshark.
