[Pkg-cups-devel] Bug#556018: cups: no longer shows jobs for a specific queue

Package: cups
Version: 1.3.8-1+lenny7
Severity: normal

Before the most recent security update, you could view details of
all/active/completed jobs in the web interface by selecting the
"printers" tab, clicking on the printer in question and clicking
pn "Show Completed jobs", "Show All Jobs" and so on. This is no
longer the case: clicking on these buttons now displays jobs for
all printer queues, rather than just the selected printer.

The buttons in question used to have URLs like
"http://server:631/printers/queuename?which_jobs=completed"
whereas they now have URLs like
"http://server:631/jobs?which_jobs=completed". Typing the "old"
URLs in by hand still works.

While this is of little consequence for most home desktop users,
it's a significant loss of usability for servers supporting many queues,
particularly if you're looking at a queue that handels a relatively low
volume of jobs.

This issue also appears in version 1.2.7-4+etch9 of the oldstable "cupsys"
package so I assume it's related to the security fixes for
CVE-2009-2820, but it seems like an unfortunate (and, I assume, avoidable)
loss of functionality.

Thanks,

John.
