[Pkg-cups-devel] Bug#519265: still having problems simply printing plaintext

Still present in 1.4.1-1.

Still fixed by deleting /usr/share/cups/mime/texttopdf.convs and 
restarting CUPS.

It would seem to me that printing plaintext with 80 columns is one of 
the most basic functions of a printer.  A regression here would seem to 
be at least a major problem with the usability of the package.  I could 
print 80 column text reliabily on my Commodore 64 and dot-matrix printer 
decades ago!  ;)

May I ask, is there is a reason (other than tuit shortage) this change 
has not been applied in any of the many uploads of CUPS since the bug 
was reported?  Is the proposed fix too simplistic for all cases?  Is 
there something I can do to help?
