Sorry for the delay, I finally upgraded cups after the xpdf packages
have been fixed:

First of all, I would have liked to be kept updated about the bug
status, instead of simply receiving the closing notification, especially
because there is an upstream bug.

As a final remark, I think this bug should be marked as wontfix instead
of cloging it, since even with Joey's patch the issue is not resolved at
all (there is still an FHS violation).  However, given that upstream is
not collaborating here (yes, I am a bit upset) and the package is yours,
do whatever you prefer, I will stop complaining with this mail.
