Hi,

After lenny->squeeze, our printers are exhibiting a 4 second delay upon
printing.  They are Ethernet EPOS receipt printers, and we use the socket
backend.  Configuration looks like:

With a simple command like lpr -P Gamma /etc/passwd, there is a four-second
delay before the printout commences.  This did not happen in lenny, 
where they
worked flawlessly.

I've attached an error log - the timestamps actually show the delay, 
which is
probably useful, as it shows it's a CUPS-related problem.

Please advise - we can give more debug info if you tell us what to give.  :)
