Jeff,

I'm so sorry this took so long.  A lot has been happening for me, and  
it has just been crazy.  I have tested this, though it is not a true  
apples-apples comparison, since there was an update to cups in lenny.

I tested this with an HP Laserjet 2015, and it works as expected.   
Though so many variables changed, I don't know what it is attributable  
to.  For example, I'm not using either of the two printers that  
brought up this whole issue for me, and the afore mentioned cups  
updates.

Anyway, I appreciate your efforts on this matter.  I guess we should  
call this one closed.
