[Pkg-cups-devel] CUPS-PDF maintenance

Greetings,

As I'm sure everyone has noticed, I haven't been happy about how CUPS
packages for Debian and Ubuntu have repeatedly hampered the usability of
CUPS-PDF. Constantly having to explain to users why CUPS-PDF doesn't
behave as intended, either due to invasive Debian changes or due to the
limitations of the AppArmor that is installed by standard at Ubuntu,
gets tiresome and, honestly, is a complete waste of my time. As a
result, as of today, I have removed myself from Uploaders for CUPS.

However, this doesn't resolve the issue of how the increasing amount of
intrusive changes in CUPS, especially changes related to implementing
the PDF Workflow, constantly affect the usability of CUPS-PDF, so I've
decided that now would be a good time for those responsible for these
changes to also take responsibility for how it affects CUPS-PDF. In
practice, I'm expecting remaining members of the CUPS team to take over
the maintenance of CUPS-PDF at their earliest convenience and to remove
my name from CUPS-PDF's Uploaders while doing so.

In closing, I'd like to say that I'm extremely happy to have worked on
maintaining both packages with the whole team and I'd like to thank you
all for having shared this part of my Free Software involvement.

Best Regards,
Martin-Éric
