[Pkg-cups-devel] Bug#682206: cupsd crash in cupsd_send_dbus

Julien Cristau julien.cristau at logilab.fr
Fri Jul 20 10:03:55 UTC 2012

Package: cups
Version: 1.4.4-7+squeeze1
Severity: important

cupsd seems to crash with SIGSEGV on me every day, seems related to some
job it doesn't like, as the crash time corresponds to the start of an
ipp process for that job. Does this look like a known issue (possibly
fixed in sid)?

BTW having to patch cups in order to debug it seems silly, I had to
- add --enable-debug to the configure flags to prevent stripping making
  the cups-dbg package completely useless
- apply this change to get a core dump:

--- cups-1.4.4.orig/scheduler/main.c
+++ cups-1.4.4/scheduler/main.c

 #ifndef DEBUG
    /*
-    * Disable core dumps...
-    */
-
-    getrlimit(RLIMIT_CORE, &limit);
-    limit.rlim_cur = 0;
-    setrlimit(RLIMIT_CORE, &limit);
-
-   /*
