I just encountered this bug on a fresh Wheezy, it makes system-config-printer 
unuseable. 

As far as I could investigate, this is a bug of python-cups, affecting both 
cups and system-config-printer. It also makes system-config-printer unuseable 
as is under Wheezy, then hereby marking as serious.
