Which driver are you using for your LaserJet1018? You can get it from

   http://localhost:631/printers/

print-test-page: sends a file from the computer to the printer.

print-self-test-page: the printer itself holds a file which can be printed
                      by sending an instruction from the computer. There
                      is often a button on the printer which will do it.

The Russian translation seems fine to me.
