Which is slightly different from what was in your first mail. I do not
know whether that is significant.

cups-filters appears to be doing its job correctly.

These three lines are repeated at intervals until the end of the log. The
"Failed to set alternate interface . . ." message comes from cups via
Debian's usb-backend-further-enhancements.patch. It would seem that cups
has a problem communicating with the printer via the usb backend. Some

Printing using the usb backend has changed since Squeeze was released. My
knowledge of things USB is sparse but it might be the suggestions made in bug
#697970 could help.
Is this type of log the normal one you get when printing any file or
does it only occur when printing a test page?
